Calico architects

Welcome to CALICO architects, a young, dynamic, imaginative architectural practice based in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Formed in 2016 by Peter Stewart, CALICO architects aim to design elegant, functional buildings which respond specifically to the needs of our clients. Peter is a chartered architect, registered with ARB (Architects Registration Board) and is a member of both the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) and the RIAI (Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland).

Prior to establishing the practice he worked at Ostick and Williams for almost 21 years, 10 of which were at director level, leaving the practice late in 2015 to explore new opportunities within the industry. During his time at Ostick and Williams he focussed for many years on the delivery of large scale retail led development schemes throughout Ireland. During this time Peter worked with a number of Ireland’s top developers and high street retailers including Sainsbury, Next, Homebase, Argos, Home Bargains and TK Maxx. Later he was instrumental in expanding the practice’s portfolio of residential work primarily in London.

CALICO architects now provides architectural consultancy services to a number of private clients throughout the UK and Ireland and is involved in projects ranging from bespoke private houses to larger mixed use and residential developments.

Within the practice Peter is supported by a dedicated team of professionals. Architectural Assistant, Noelene Russell has a passion for high quality contemporary architecture and design and Architectural Technician, Graeme Goudy brings over 15 years of construction knowledge to the practice. Both are skilled in the use of industry standard software including Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit, SketchUp and Adobe Photoshop.

CALICO architects is currently involved in projects throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland ranging from bespoke private houses work to larger mixed use and residential developments.
